Food and Thought 2 will be the site of a private networking event on Thursday, October 20, 2022. The event is hosted by CAN (Citizens Awake Now) and will focus on the upcoming Collier County School Board elections.
CAN is a locally based political action committee (PAC) with the stated mission “…to awaken, inform and activate citizens passionate for good government in Southwest Florida and beyond.” CAN chairman Alfie Oakes is also the owner of Oakes Farms, including Seed to Table and Food and Thought 1 and 2.
The Agenda
The event will include speakers who will discuss the upcoming school board election with guests. The issues facing the district, both now and in the future will be discussed. In addition, the candidates and their records will be examined.
Citizens Awake Now supports putting America first in our educational system. They also support the return of traditional values.
The Food
An event at Food and Thought 2 isn’t complete without food. Here are some of the mouth-watering items on the menu for the event:
Hors d’oeuvres:
- Pizza- Neapolitan and gluten-free cauliflower crust.
- Soup Shot- Apple Onion and Shrimp Bisque
- Pan-seared Grouper Cake with dill pickle tartar sauce
Action Station:
- Carved whole roasted organic beef tenderloin with garlic-whipped potato and fresh vegetables.
- Seafood chowder topped with sauteed sea scallops
- Grilled bison skirt steak with herb marinade and salad.
When
The event is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm and run until 9:00 pm on October 20, 2022.
This is a private event and tickets are required. Tickets are available online at Eventbrite or you may purchase a ticket at the door using cash or check. Food and beverages are included with the ticket. Proceeds from the event go to the Citizens Awake Now PAC.
